So Sweet

Gareth was able to experience his first dance with a girl this evening. His cousin Ari wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. They had fun cutting the rug in front of Grandma Capel's Christmas tree. :) I love this picture.

Amazing Holiday Light Display!

Last week for Family Night we decided to drive around and look at Christmas lights. This is a yearly tradition of ours but this year was the best ever. We looked around online and found out about a house not too far from us that puts on a spectacular Christmas light display (with music and everything). I was only expecting the lights to be timed to one song but we got about 20 minutes worth of songs! It was a lot of fun. The kids LOVED it. If you live in the area please go see it! Letters to Santa

Ruth took it upon herself to write letters to Santa for both her and her brother. I would have taken a picture but alas, our camera does not seem to be working :( Here is what she wrote:

Mom: "Don't eat it, it's for dinner."

Ruth: "But it looks so good and I'm so hungry!"

Mom: "Go distract yourself. Dinner will be done soon."

Ruth: "I don't think I can persevere."

Snow Day

We had our first snow day a couple weeks ago. (yes, I am very much behind in my blogging....I have many excuses). The kids had a lot of fun playing outside. We made a baby snowman.

Gareth got cold.

Carrots!

Ronan's been eating solids for about a month now but we figured we should blog about it! Now all of these pictures probably all look the same to you, but I thought they were all so cute I couldn't just pick a couple. So here you go!

This one's my favorite...he likes to suck on his thumb while eating.

I can't believe how quickly this little boy is growing up. It's only been 6 months since he was born but it's gone by way too fast. Ronan is the light of all of our lives. He LOVES to listen to Ruth's jokes and his favorite person to roll around on the floor with is Gareth. He's a pretty quiet kid (now that the colic is pretty much over) but he does have a red-head temper! He loves to smile at strangers in the same way Ruth always did so part of me thinks he's not going to be shy (but we'll see). Ronan gets around these days pretty well with his own version of an army crawl. He's already a whopping 18 1/2 pounds (I'll get a more accurate weight at his well-baby visit in a couple weeks) and he's already fitting into clothes made for a 12-month-old. I don't know what we're going to do with this kid, but we love him!

Math?!?

Jones and I both LOVE to read. So, naturally, I expected to have children who love to read. Don't get me wrong, Ruth is really enjoying learning how to read. But, to our surprise, she has become OBSESSED with math. She loves to write number sentences. She doesn't want bedtime stories, she wants math problems. She doesn't even use her fingers to figure them out (I still have to use my fingers). Here is her math on Day 1 of figuring it all out. Yes, I said DAY 1. It's been a couple weeks and she's even better now. I'm hoping she's going to put these brains to use and become a millionaire so we can live out our days in luxury.

Brown Bananas

So you know how sometimes bananas get brown spots? And how they're really not that bad but most people avoid eating them? Well somehow I've managed to convince Ruth not only that they're not bad to eat, but that they are extra special and extra sweet. When she get's a banana with a brown spot she doesn't say "ewww," she says "yay! a brown spot!"
