Another Fracking Quiz.

Havilah's answers are in blue, Jonesy's answers are in red.

1.What are your names? If you don't know, then you probably have no business being here anyway...
Well, my real name is Beelzebub, destroyer of Worlds, but you can call me Jones.

2.What are your middle names? Blaine and Ann (guess which belongs to whom!)
Yeah, that's a toughy.....

3.How long have you been together? Our first date was October 23, 2002...so...about 6 1/2 years.
Sounds about right.

4.How long did you know each other before you started dating? one or two days
OK, that is not true. I started working at the haunted forest the first week in October, and we started talking like my second day there. We talked a lot and then started flirting before I worked up enough guts to ask her out. So it was a week or two.

5.Who asked who out? Jones asked me out. We were standing in the "blood room" in the Haunted House we were working at. Jones was wearing a Devil dress and I was wearing a "scream" outfit. The strobe light and the 'blood' on the walls made the atmosphere perfectly romantic...
It wasn't a dress, it was a robe. A very dressy looking robe.

6.How did you meet? We were both working at the Haunted Forest at Sherwood Hills resort up Sardine canyon near Logan, UT. First time I met him he asked me what he can do to help so I told him we needed help with the sound system (which was up in the middle of the woods). So I led him deep into the forest and on the way he showed me his true self by tripping over a log :) That's when I fell in love.
That log jumped out and attacked me.

7.How old are each of you? 30 and 26 (you can guess which age belongs to whom here too)
Please don't use maturity level as a basis for your guess...

8.The first kiss? If you MUST know, it was on our first date. Since we were working the Haunted Forest EVERY night, there was no time for a date except for after work (which was about 11pm or so). So the only place open in town was Village Inn. After our late dinner we went for a drive and ended up parked up a canyon. So of course we kissed.
Ok, again, we had been flirting and hanging out at work alot over the previous week, and we had ALMOST kissed a time or two, once in the creepy strobe tunnel and once when we were hanging out back stage. So it wasn't like it was "Hey, wanna go on a date? Cool, well then let me stick my tongue down your throat!" I am WWWAAAYYYY more classy than that.

9.Whose siblings do/did you see the most? Probably mine... even though we really don't see anyone very often anymore.

10.Do you have any children together? Yep. One girl, one boy and one mystery child.

11.What about pets? Do our children count?

12.Did you go to the same school? Nope
Well, we did both go to USU, but not at the same time.

13.Are you from the same home town? Provo for me, Flagstaff for Jones

14.Who is the smartest? Depends on the topic, but mostly Jones.

15.Who is the most sensitive? Define "sensitive." If we're talking about who gets their feelings hurt more, then neither of us are very sensitive. If we're talking about crying in movies and stuff then it's me for sure (especially right now since I'm pregnant). Jones isn't afraid of crying at a good movie though.
SHE'S LYING!!!! I DON'T EVER CRY AT MOVIES, I LAUGH DIABOLICLLY!

16.Where do you eat out most as a couple? We have a few places we go between. Rudy's, Dickies, Sonic, DQ

17.Who has the worst temper? Jones. But that's not saying much since I really don't have a temper at all...
Yeah, and I don't really have a bald spot.

18.Who does the cooking? Mostly me. But Jones is an EXCELLENT cook. He makes up some amazing recipes.

19.Who is more social? I am by far. I love to be in social environments (even though I'm very shy). Jones prefers an evening at home with a good book (or xbox game).

20.Who is the neat freak? Neither one of us is neat... which explains the current state of our house.

21.Who is more stubborn? Probably me... but it's a VERY close race.
No, it's not.
Yes, it is.

22.Who hogs the bed? Jones :P
HA!

23.Who wakes up earlier? Our children. When we can, we usually switch off mornings of getting up with the kids so the other can sleep in. We are both extreme night owls.
I noticed something this morning that is very interesting. Whenever there is a question of whose turn it is to get up with the kids, it's always my turn. Isn't that amazing?

24.Where was your first date? Village Inn and a drive up the canyon.
By drive, she means makeout session. AWESOME!!!!!

25.Who has the bigger family? I do.

26.Do you get flowers often? Often enough. Flowers aren't cheap so I only really expect them on special holidays.

27.How do you spend the holidays? Lately we've been spending them at home. Travel can be pricey.

28.Who is more jealous? I am.. but I keep it under control most of the time.
Rrrrrriiigggghhhhtttttt.......

29.How long did it take to get serious? After the first date we didn't miss a single day seeing each other until long after the wedding. (except for the week I was up in Portland for Christmas...but we spent hours on the phone every day to make up for it).
Short answer: 23 minutes.

30.Who eats more? Probably Jones.. but not by much.
I have to keep my girlish figure somehow.

31.Who sings better? Jones has a great voice but since I can read music he'd probably argue that I sing better. But I'd say it's more of a tie.

32.Who does the laundry? Laundry?!? I knew I was forgetting something.
Yeah, where are my socks?

33.Who's better with the computer? Jones for sure.

34.Who drives when you are together? Mostly me.. but that's because the only times we really drive together are when I'm taking him or picking him up from work.

35.Who picks where you go to dinner? We both do.

36.Who is the first one to admit when they’re wrong? Jones is, by a mile.
Even when I'm not.

37.Who wears the pants in the relationship? We both take turns wearing the 'relationship pants'.
Havilah also takes turn wearing my real pants as well, especially my comfortable pajama pants. And by takes turns I means she steals them as soon as we buy them.

38.Who has more tattoos? One of us has one tattoo, the other has zero. Guess which one!
D'uh......

39.Who eats more sweets? it's a tie! we both have a love for sweets and we both share when we get sweets.
Like I get a choice.

Oh yeah...

It's been about a month since we transferred Gareth's crib into a toddler bed. Because we had no trouble whatsoever with the transfer, it kind of slipped my mind to post about this milestone. Gareth is very proud of himself that he can climb out of bed when he wakes up and he rarely abuses this new privilege. It was a very long process to get Ruth to stay in her toddler bed when it was time for her to make the change so I was expecting similar for Gareth. It might have helped that we waited a bit longer before switching him over than we did with Ruth.

He's growing up way too fast. I just love that he sleeps with his hands behind his head. It shows how easygoing and laid back he is.

It's an Obsession

This is what happens when peanut butter-obsessed little boys get into the kitchen while mommy isn't looking! I suppose it could have been much worse.

Two Years Ago...

It was 12:45 AM on Friday, March 2nd 2007. I was scheduled to be admitted to the hospital to have my labor artificially induced in just under 7 hours. Gareth decided that he didn't want to be forced to come out, he wanted to do it himself. So the contractions began. We had some wonderful neighbors on standby to come over to stay with Ruth if labor started in the middle of the night. They thought they were off the hook because they knew we were going in the next morning. Sorry! With Ruth taken care of, we headed off to the hospital. Contractions were about 2 minutes apart. When we arrived, they were able to take us directly to my room because they already had it ready.
Since I had tested positive for Group B Strep, I had to have two doses of antibiotic before the baby came out. They wanted to get this started before I got my epidural. After three pokes, an ultrasound on my arm to find a vein and 2 hours later the IV was in. The nurses had noticed that I was progressing pretty quickly (already dilated 7 cm and 100% effaced) they wanted to get all of the antibiotic in quickly so they turned the drip up full-blast. OUCH. If you've never felt the burn of antibiotics being pushed into your veins at a rapid rate you are very lucky. The pain was from my elbow to my shoulder and I swear it was worse than the contractions. After complaining, they turned it down a bit and it was more tolerable.
Next step, epidural. This all went without a hitch. I love the feeling of a huge needle being stuck into my spine (since it comes with the knowledge that I will no longer feel anything down below). After the pain was gone, Jones and I both lay down for a nice, long nap. Yes, it's true. We both slept for a few hours. The nurse later told me that we looked so comfortable that she didn't want to disturb us (even though she knew I was almost fully dilated and the time was fast approaching for me to push). She even told us she joked with the other nurses that they should listen for a baby in case it came out while we were sleeping.
Finally around 9am-ish We began to push (actually, I began to push.. nurse and Jones watched). After about 30 minutes Gareth made his debut into the world. He was 6lbs 15oz and 18.5 inches long. We thought his hair was brownish/reddish (because it was wet) but after his bath and dried hair, we were amazed to see blazing red hair before us. It was a shock! Gareth immediately became the favorite of all the nurses.
We are so blessed to have this sweet little boy in our lives. He brings us all happiness every day. Happy Birthday Gareth!
