Gareth Reads

Gareth 'read' the book Green Eggs and Ham to us today.  This is how he did it:

Would you in a house with a mouse?
No I wouldn't!
Would you in a box with a fox?
NO I WON'T
Would you on a train?
NO!!!
Would you in the dark?
NO!!!!

Maybe it's one of those things where you had to be there but it was SO FUNNY listening to him get louder and louder pretending to be more and more angry/annoyed.  We laughed till we cried.  This kid is going to be a comedian.

Ronan's photo shoot

Ronan's first experience with grass. He doesn't hate it! He also loves his toy spoon. :)

Doing #2 The Backwards Way

Gareth has decided that it's much easier to poo backwards.

Why hold the bottle when the floor can do it for you?

Meeting Martha

The kids and I got to meet some famous people! Our local PBS station threw a reading party exclusively for AWESOME kids (who happened to read a certain amount of time throughout the month of November).

They got a TON of free toys and they each got a free book. We also got to watch a Magic Show where Ruth was able to volunteer to help out with a magic trick!

They got to meet Martha from Martha Speaks (a fun and clever show about a dog who ate some alphabet soup and the letters got lost on the way to her stomach and ended up in her brain causing her to be able to speak). Interestingly enough, Martha didn't say a word the entire time we were taking the picture...
They also got to meet Sid from the show Sid the Science Kid (about a kid who wanted to know everything about everything...)
.. and Duck from the show Word World (about a world where everything is made of words!)

The Bean Museum

No, it's not a museum all about beans! It's the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum! If you're looking for a FREE fun family activity in Provo, this is the one for you! I remember going to this place dozens and dozens of times as a kid. It doesn't get old! It's a taxidermist's dream world! The place is full of all sorts of animals and awesome displays of animal habitats. We had lots of fun standing up close to all the animals.

Starting the year off WRONG

Yeah.. I'm not doing so hot at blogging lately. I lost the cord to our camera. That's my excuse. Good enough? I think so! Anyway...here's a little update on what's going on in our lives:

Jonesy got laid off on January 28th. It's pretty frustrating and a little bit depressing. Utah won't help us with unemployment because we haven't lived here long enough but luckily Texas is awesome and they are going to help us. Jonesy has put in about a million applications and already had an interview. Hopefully we'll know more about where we're going in life in the next couple months. All I have to say is Thank goodness it's Tax Return season!

Ruth is still LOVING school. Sometimes she complains that she gets bored, but I assume that's normal. The school just finished testing her for their accelerated learning program. Haven't heard the results yet.

Gareth keeps telling us stories of things that happened to him while he was at school. This causes us a bit of confusion since he doesn't go to school (and the stories are sometimes pretty crazy) but we're just assuming that he's excited to start school (someday).

Ronan is sporting 5 teeth and walking everywhere (holding on to the furniture, that is). If we recall correctly, Ruth did the same thing and she didn't actually walk by herself until 13 months. Hopefully Ronan will hold off a bit before walking. He's growing fast though! He's already (at 8 months old) the size that Ruth and Gareth were at 12 months!

Anyway.. I've found my cord for my camera so there is going to be TONS of pictures coming soon! Keep watchin'!
