The other day Ruth asked us what the word 'mobile' meant. So we set off down the long path of explaining it to her. We told her that mobile is something that moves or can be moved. Then we gave some examples. A mobile home is a home that can move..it is on wheels so it can drive around like a car. A car is mobile because it moves. Then I said (thinking that THIS one will explain it all!) "a mobile phone is mobile because it doesn't need to be attached to a wire that is hooked to the wall!" Then Ruth said this while laughing:"haha! Mom! You're silly! There's no such thing as a phone that is attached to the wall! haha!"
...Well there USED to be in the olden days little girl. We also had to play board games instead of computer games. And we didn't have wheels in our shoes either! bah humbug!

At least you were born after the time gas was 5 cents a gallon. Oh wait, 5 cents a gallon would be cool. Maybe it will be one day when everybody has cars that run off air. Anyways cute kids.
Yeah, AND we actually had to roll car windows down by HAND - none of this pushing a button business. Kids today...
There was just a nintendo and atari. Home computers were just typerwriters that printed, no internet yet.
